Puppy Scouts

So little Wy has been to a Cub Scout Family Campout, a Cub Scout Haunted Trails and a couple Den Meetings. He has decided that he is a "Puppy Scout - because I'm not full grown yet"

Silly Mommy

I was heading out to a wedding last weekend when Wy and I started making faces at each other. He insisted I let him take a picture and he giggled so much over this one that I thought I would share it with you.

John's Dresser Garden

John Owen, John Owen, how does your dresser grow?
With corn cob pipes and piggy bank eyes and Popsicle sticks all in a row!
And maybe a few walnuts, some pens, keys, a peep, electrical outlet safety cover, a few boy scout badges, a multi-tool and you haven't even seen my junk drawer yet!!!

Mii

Wy likes to do homework with Jack after school. We have a few dry erase boards with numbers, letters and shapes. I am surprised at how good his lettering has become. Jack is doing really well with his piano lessons. He likes to play his homework each morning and we hardly ever have to remind him to practice in the evening. He plays the pages on his homework sheet, then he goes back and plays the songs I like and he will often just sit down to make music - he doesn't bang on the piano like a lot of kids do, he experiments with patterns and moods. It is really quite fascinating.

Wyatt has become very contemplative when answering questions, he says "Hmm, let me see" or "Let me think about it..."
"Wyatt, how was your day?"
"Hmmm, let me see...."

He has also recently started running around saying "A goo and a bee!" I wish I knew what that meant, but I have no idea and Wyatt isn't telling. I ask him and he just smiles and says it again - waving his arm like a king.

The boys love to play the Wii. Jack's favorite thing to do is create mii. He has already made a mii for everyone in his class - in case they come over for a play-date. Wyatt is only interested in his mii - I'm not sure if he thinks his mii is funny, if this is how he sees himself or what but I had to take a picture of it for you...

Fall Fun

I have been in rehearsals all week so I see the boys in the morning and then their sleeping faces at night. John has been spending some guy time in the yard with them this weekend!

When you don't want to eat it

Jack said "Mommy, when you don't like it, you don't like to smell it and you don't want to eat it, you just do vis."

Take My Picture!

When Jack registered for Kindergarden, I took his picture by the big brick sign thing in the front of the building. When he went in for his first day of school this year I thought I would try to be clever and take his picture there every year to measure his growth. (We'll see if I can remember to do that or not.) Now every time we walk past the sign, Wyatt wants me to take HIS picture in front of it. Unfortunately every time we are there, the sun is too bright for him.

I like #2. "When I say 'Dance! You better dance!"
